Our standards

Editorial Policy

How we research, write, review, update and correct FinOptiva content.

Purpose

Our content should help a reader understand a finance concept or compare realistic scenarios without presenting an estimate as an offer.

Sources and review

We prioritize official provider materials, regulators, applicable policy documentation and primary sources. Examples and rates must be labelled illustrative when they are not a current provider quotation.

Claims and conflicts

We avoid promising approval, a specific deposit, a rate or savings that cannot be substantiated. Commercial relationships are disclosed separately and should not be represented as accreditation.

Updates and corrections

Finance terms and policies change. We update material pages when new information affects the reader's decision. To report a possible error, use the contact form and select “Editorial correction”. We review credible reports and correct material errors without hiding the nature of the change.
